Water is our most precious resource and Americans as well as Utahans must learn how to conserve water. Here are a few tips on water conservation and how you can participate in saving water in your household:

• Stop dripping faucets. A dripping faucet can waste 20 gallons of water a day. A leaking toilet can use 90,000 gallons of water in a month. Fixing a leaky faucet is easy to do by changing the washers. If you can’t do it, call your friendly plumber to go through the house to check for leaks and repair all of your faucets.
• Aerators on your faucets can reduce water volume and water-saving showerheads can cut the volume of water used down to 1.2 gallons per minute or less. There are new technologies for saving water in the bathroom such as showers with a “pause button” while you soap and shampoo. This is itself will save a tremendous amount of water.
• Turn off the water while brushing your teeth or shaving. Always wash dishes and laundry with full loads. Take shorter showers and shower with a friend.
• Conserve watering the lawn by watering at night. Better yet, start a green initiative campaign to start replacing the lawn with water-efficient, colorful indigenous plants for a Utah landscape. The average homeowner uses 60% of their water to irrigate lawns and gardens.

As citizens of Utah become more environmentally conscious about their water consumption, dip into state resources for education on how to conserve water for yourself and your neighbors. Conservation is a key to a brighter future.

I was at a little league baseball game for my husband’s younger brother last week. We sat there for two hours on hard metal benches while the sun went down and the goose bumps came out. I love little league baseball, but sometime there are only so many walks you can watch before you totally zone out. There is just something that I need at a baseball game that helps get me through it. Know what I mean? I am talking about food! I was saved from boredom a few times by the aroma or hot dogs, nachos and popcorn flowing out from the concession stand. Once I had a hot bag of buttery popcorn, I was perfectly content to stay there for at least another hour.

My husband’s younger sister even works at the concession stand some nights. I remember working at a custom concession trailer when I was younger. It was an easy summer job for me to start out will because I would just sell hot dogs and popsicles to the young kids as they went from game to game. I just looked online and I saw a website that sells custom concession trailers. It’s at www.customconcessiontrailer.com. I do admit these trailers are much better than the one that I worked in years ago. It is practically a portable restaurant where the food will come to you. I have even seen things similar to this in parking lots around my neighborhood selling tacos or gyros. In fact, now that I’m thinking about that yummy food again, next time I’m on my way home I think I’ll stop and pick up dinner!

Diabetes has been a widespread condition among American’s for decades and is increasingly more and more common among children and adults. There are 23.6 million children and adults who have the disease, and millions who are unaware that they have the disease at all. Diabetes results from the body’s inability to produce or use insulin, which is a hormone that allows cells in the body to unlock so that glucose can enter and fuel them.

I had a step father while growing up who every once in a while become unresponsive to the world around him. He would start saying odd things that did not apply to the conversation at hand and became weak as if he was about ready to pass out. My mom would have to act quickly to get some juice or something easy to swallow in his body as quickly as possible. He was diabetic. It was necessary for those around him to know how to help if at any time he needed it. The average person is probably not educated enough to help someone who is having a diabetic episode. Some may not even be aware that someone around them is diabetic and may be experiencing problematic symptoms right in front of them.

Lauren’s Hope has allowed those with medical conditions to keep necessary information with them at all times. They have created the perfect medical ID bracelet that combines safety with style. The vital information of your medical condition can now be discretely worn as a bracelet around your wrist- not shouting your medical condition to others from the rooftops with ordinary medical bracelets. Many children have already found comfort in wearing beautiful jewels around their medical tags, interchangeable with many different elegant and casual styles.

If you know someone who has a medical condition, recommend or give a gift to them that could save their life- a medical ID bracelet they will love to wear!

Looking for a new job can be so frustrating. Especially when I have learned that you really cannot get a job that you want unless you know someone. Life is all about connections and anyone that tells you otherwise is flat out lying. All of the jobs I have ever had I knew someone except for Baskin Robbins. But they were just desperate because who the hell wants to get paid $7.00 an hour to eventually get carpal tunnel syndrome? That job was great though, I just tested the flavors all day and believe it or not but they actually have more than 31 flavors. But now that I am an official adult and I want to get some experience in the health field before I go on to nursing school I am finding it harder to get a job that I want. For example I applied to over 12 jobs at Intermountain HealthCare and the

staffing HR

has denied me for about 5 jobs that I am well qualified for. Who is this Human Resource Staffing and why do they have so much pull on whether I get the job or not? I guess they are the ones that are in charge of recruitment and selection. I really need to find someone that I know so that I can get some better recommendations for me to work at a hospital. Human Resources Staffing needs to understand how great I am and realize my potential. If they only knew what they were missing out on, I am awesome.

My sister Bella has been looking in to being a nanny for this summer. She loved the book Nanny Diaries and the movie as well. We have both babysat a lot at home in California making really good money. The only reason I cannot do it is because it is all under the table and you cannot file taxes meaning that you can’t prove your income later on in life if you want to get a loan or something. So back to Bella; she has been looking in New York for a family to work for. I told her to get a hold of a nanny placement program that could help her out and keep her resume on file. I heard that those were prime in getting good jobs. And I guess you really want to be with a fun family that fits you best if you are going to be living with them for months on end.

My friend used a nanny placement agency online somewhere. I can’t remember the name of it though. I should probably give her a call so that I can better help my sister. I remember my friend got to go live in a awesome beach house in the Hamptons all summer and made over $1,000 a week. You also have to take into consideration that all your expenses are paid when you are living with these families. All you really have to do is get there.

Bella is going to have such a great time over there. I think I need to plan a trip this summer and visit her. We can go to all the museums in New York City. I love museums and we can go to shows! Yes! I’m going to start looking for flights tonight.

The neighborhood that I grew up in was an employee only neighborhood. What I mean by that, is no one was self employed or a business owner. Everyone worked a W-2 job employed by someone else. The only image I had of a business man was someone who wore a suit and carried a briefcase. Then something changed. When I was eleven years old, a dentist and his family moved into our neighborhood. He soon became my scout leader, and gave a lot of service to our neighborhood. I admired his family and his life style. I saw how he was his own boss, and knew I would want that for myself someday. As most dentists do, he made a good living, and was generous. I decided that I wanted to be a dentist when I grew up.

For many years I pursued this goal, dreaming of the life I would someday live. While attending Brigham Young University, I chose to major in Human Biology in preparation for moving on to schooling as a dentist in Las Vegas Nevada. I enjoyed parts of my degree such as anatomy and physiology, but admit that I loathed organic chemistry and a lot of the advanced biology classes. As I began my senior year, I came across an audio series called Choose to Be Rich, by Robert Kiyosaki. It rocked me to my core and caused a total paradigm shift in the way I thought about my future career. I knew what I wanted, and it did not include becoming a dentist. I wanted to own my own business.

The bleary-eyed, early morning starts. The long hours waiting with nary an animal in sight. The quick scramble to point, aim, and shoot before the birds are out of range. Let’s face it: hunting is a great chance to get out into nature and enjoy sporting with friends, but it is no walk in the park (though if they allowed hunting there, maybe it would be). So rather than trudging out into the wild on your own, hoping for the best, try out the

goose hunting guides

from Bay Prairie and make your hunting trip that much more successful and enjoyable.

No matter what your worst-case hunting scenario might be, try this plan for size: a 3:30 a.m. wake-up call, followed by a continental breakfast; you’re driven out to a hunting field specifically chosen for that day, led by a seasoned guide. They’ll help you get set up, take care of any safety orientation you might need, and call the geese to give you the best fightin’ chance at bagging a prize bird. And don’t you worry: their guides are highly trained, professional, and not Dick Cheney.

And what if you’re a bit bored with the hunting landscape of Texas? Consider a hunting excursion into the forests of Saskatchewan. Bay Prairie is fully licensed and experienced to lead goose hunting trips into the Canadian forests. With a three-day package, you can enjoy lodging, meals, and many morning and afternoon hunts. You bring the gear, they bring the guide, and hunting will be more enjoyable than ever.

Knowing that you can trust your employees brings a peace of mind that every employer wants. Whether your company is still small, or already large, conducting thoroughly researched background checks ensures the quality of employees hired at the company.

This need for quality investigative services is especially true in New York, where people are constantly moving from all over the world to seek employment. It is not simply an inconvenience to hire a disreputable individual masquerading and the cream of the crop, it places a significant financial burden on a company if actions must be taken against the individual hired based on misinformation.

Since 2005, Alliance Worldwide Investigative Group, Inc. has been providing thorough investigative services in New York. Alliance not only handles pre-employment investigations, but also provides services for investigation into Insurance fraud and even corporate or internal theft. This is a company that can meet any of your corporate investigative needs.

With Alliance, you can be confident that the potential employee who looks so qualified on paper will actually be the person the resume indicates. The thorough scrutiny potential employees will undergo will help maintain a work environment that is efficient and capable.

New York based companies know the challenge of hiring reputable and qualified individuals, and they also know the frustration of completing an internal investigation into the actions of a dishonest employee. Alliance will bring you the peace of mind that comes with knowing that your corporate investigations are being conducted by capable professionals. You can stop worrying about hiring a liar with Alliance’s due-diligence investigations protecting your company.

Taking the opportunity to do upgrades on windows is so much more than just making your home more beautiful–it is a wise investment! Upgrading to energy efficient windows will increase your property value, but even more immediate are the reductions you’ll see in your energy bills.

Whether you are looking to get more out of your house when you sell it, or looking for a way to save money each month, window replacement is a great option.

Living in Maryland, replacement windows did not seem like the most important thing to spend money on. I had recently moved from a desert climate and it made sense why I would want the energy efficiency in the desert, but I didn’t think it would make as much of a difference in this part of the country–boy was I wrong.

I hired this great company, Ameritech Construction Corporation, to come in and replace my windows with energy efficient ones. I may not be living in the desert, but in Maryland, window replacement is just as important as anywhere else.

I am really happy with my new windows: they make my home more beautiful and, of course, I love the money I’m saving on those energy bills! I’ve actually been considering having Ameritech come back because I recently discover that they do door replacement in Maryland as well, and I definitely want to replace that old dinosaur of a door with something new and energy efficient.

The nice thing about Ameritech, is that they also do window replacement in Washington DC and the surrounding areas. My brother is actually doing a window replacement in Arlington next month. When I showed him my old energy bills and the new ones, he was easily convinced.

The thing I keep wondering, though, is how I never heard about the benefits of window replacement. Oh, well…at least I finally found out about it and can enjoy these great new windows.
